A Word from Lovie:
If you talked with any of the young men who grew up in one of “God Loves Kids” children’s homes and asked them what does Mama Lovie (which is what most of them call me) say to you often I think most of them would reply “she says remember God is your source, not me”. There seems to always be some crucial need and with children depending on us in fourteen different locations there seems to always be at least fourteen URGENT needs so sometimes I feel overwhelmed. Then I have to remind myself that God truly is our source.
Right now, with all of the media frenzy, the economist doom day reports that tell us daily that our nation is in financial difficulty unlike anything it has ever experienced, terrorist threats are at our door, our nation is embroiled in war, and a growing movement toward total socialism, it is easy to become fearful and forget that God is our source and He is in control. I hate to admit it but I am, by my human nature, a worrier. However, lately when the news comes on I find myself turning it off and turning to the Word of God on C.D. As I listen I am reminded over and over – God really is in Control – God is our source –I am not to Fear.
As I remind myself let me also encourage you to remember we are in God’s economy. He is in control. HE REALLY IS OUR SOURCE. He knows you and I have been faithful with our tithes, we have given to the poor and needy, you and I have sacrificed so the Gospel could be sent to others, and He hears our prayers. He will surely award us in open for those things we have done in secret.
Let’s read and be encouraged by the Word:
Matt: 6:25-33
Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink: or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns (or wall-street) and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable that they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin, yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith. So do not worry saying “What shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
I truly believe that scripture was inspired by God to encourage us to always know that “God is our Source”. And I try to teach that to those I work with in third world countries. At the same time, when times look bleak in our country I pray that I don’t show them fear and worry. Instead I want to be an example to them and I want to be able to say with Habakkuk , “Though the fig tree may not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength."

LET’S PRAY FOR OUR NATION – LET’S NOT WORRY! GOD REALLY IS OUR SOURCE AND HE IS OUR STRENGTH –SPREAD THE WORD AND BELIEVE IT WITH ME!
