Sharon has come from a miserable life. Her parents lived as peasants. They could not find work and struggled to support their family. Sharon was not attending school because her parents could not afford to pay school fees. New Eden Primary school wanted to help Sharon so, they offered to take her in.

Christopher used to study deep in the village but the standards were so low that he wasn't learning anything. His father had little money but understood the importance of education. He contacted the New Eden School and asked if his son could go to the school for better care and a better education.

Jamir lost his father in an accident. His mother works as a hair dresser but she makes very little money. She worked to support six children alone. Jamir and his family were suffering from a life in poverty. Jamir’s mother desperately needed help providing for her children.

Both of Sandrine’s parents worked as farmers to support their family. Their income was extremely low. They could not afford to send Sandrine to a school and pay the tuition cost. They didn’t want their daughter to suffer from a life in poverty so, they came to Harvest Children’s Home for help.

Lydia was born in June of 1999. Her parents, who are bare subsistence peasant farmers, have 4 children and are too poor to provide for school fees. Lydia was brought to New Eden on September 9, 2004 and has been awaiting sponsorship since then. She is a disciplined, social and obedient pupil who enjoys worshiping God, playing netball (Africa’s version of basketball) and music. She is currently 10 years old and in Primary 5. She is ranked 6th out of a class of 60. Her favorite subjects are English and Math.

Josephine was born in November of 1999. Her parents, who have 4 children, are bare subsistence peasant farmers and were unable to pay for school fees. He is a well-disciplined, hard-working and God-fearing young man who is active in class.

Anitha Uwase was born May 4, 2001. She is a girl who is humble and disciplined at school and outside of school. She is growing into a fine young lady. Academically she has performed well and is active in class and next year she will go to Primary 3. Spiritually she is a God-fearing child and is in the children’s choir. She enjoys playing soccer and other athletics. She is always laughing and has a kind heart. Her favorite subjects are Math, Writing and Music. She was brought to HCC in 1997 for care and education. She is 13 years old and in Primary 3. She is active and attentive in class. She knows now what to do and how to make it in class. She enjoys studying English and Math and loves to dance and run.

Before coming to stay with us, she was shabby and illiterate. Now she is a well-behaved, social and disciplined student who likes her studies very much and serving God at times. Her favorite subjects are singing and numbers and she loves playing football. Kasifa wants to become a teacher.

Before coming to live with us he was very unhappy and lonely. Now he has learned to serve God and share with others. He likes his studies very much, especially numbers and English. He loves playing football and music. He has learned to associate with others. Paul wants to become an engineer
